Glasgow, with kids
Here are our top 6 things to do in Glasgow with kids!
1)The Botanic Gardens – These gardens are delightful and children seem to have such a fondness for botany. We always find it a nice retreat from a city if we can find a nice garden to walk through. You can also have afternoon tea here, which we recommend you trying a tea time at least once while in Scotland.
2)Riverside Transport Museum – Basically the largest museum of Things that Go! This museum has so much to offer, from its awesome exterior design to the wonderful collection of transportation options, inside. Don’t miss the Tall Ship sitting on the water right outside the museum’s entrance.
3)Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum – free to enter! And the art collection is so impressive. You could easily make a full day of this museum!
4) Hunterian Museum – Attached to Glasgow University, it is Scotland’s oldest museum and it has dinosaurs and mummies and so many other real treasures that kids always love seeing displayed.
5) Glasgow Cathedral and a walk through the Glasgow Necropolis
6) The City Sightseeing Tour – Always a great ride around any new city, this narrated way around the city is the perfect way to learn a little
And when you’re not doing, you should worry about where you are staying.
The Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor is by far the top hotel choice in Glasgow!
The Glasgow Grosvenor is right on the corner of Byres Road and Great Western Road. This location is ideal for walking throughout the west end of the city!
The rooms are clean and comfortable and spacious enough for our whole family!
We loved that they have a wonderful buffet breakfast in the morning, so we never worried about what we were going to have to do for food!
They also have a terrific steakhouse, Bo’vine which we ate at one night and we all loved it! This is also where the buffet breakfast is served, so super convenient for an evening when you want to be near the hotel!
beGIN was a really cute bar, though we didn’t get to have a drink, we imagine that you might thoroughly enjoy one.
The Building of the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor is so pretty and it is right across the street from the botanical gardens. Everything about the Hilton was wonderful, the staff was incredibly helpful assisting us every day with maps and advice on what we should do with the kids! Never hesitate to ask the front desk for advice!
Our stay was in partnership with the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor, but all thoughts are our own. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit to Glasgow! Thank you, Hilton, for a wonderful experience and for welcoming our family into yours!
